Gossip & Health - What Keeps Us Going!
I have two interesting topics that really have no relation to one another… Or maybe they do? This may not be something to be proud of, but who likes celebrity gossip? ME! Ok, now what about health? I think we all generally want to be healthy and in shape but that dominos pizza is just calling your name. I understand, trust me! So how about… Who likes to be or wants to be healthy? ME! I'm sure you do too! If so, then you've definitely come to the write place. I am not the most faithful member but I do check these sites a few times a week. One of my favorite sites is SandraRose, which is an urban gossip site. I only want grade A gossip that I can trust is going to be accurate which is why this site is superior to websites like Media Take Out and In Touch magazine. As for my second favorite site, it would have to be Women's Health Magazine which is a support website that offers workouts, eating plans, and mostly discuses the issues in women's health and how to fix it. Since I am very into health, I, of course, want real workout and diet plans that I know are good for me. Hence, there's so many different websites telling people all sorts of unreliable things and sometimes we think anything that is on the internet is true, WRONG! Therefore, I appreciate these sites for how hard they work to give their audience reliable information that we can trust. Well, I hope if you're visiting my site you agree and will take interest in my personal two favorite websites: SandraRose.com and WomensHealthMagazine.com Get your gossip on, but in a healthy way, of course!
SandraRose
SandraRose is an urban celebrity gossip website. It gives you the latest news on your favorite celebs and their photographs. Anyone who is interested in the lives of popular celebrity’s would enjoy this site.
Just like any website or television channel they have to pay bills, therefore the website does advertise for companies. You may see the occasional watch or yoga pants ad but, no worries, it doesn't interfere with the quality of the news. I love this website because I’m nosy as hell. I want to know all the celeb gossip. I know… I’m terrible Ha-Ha. I also like that Sandra Rose gives you the facts (most of the time). She won't report on something until she has the proof to back it up. Therefore, sometimes she’s the last to report on a story, but she always gives credit where it’s due to others and references them in the article. Lastly, her page is very professional. She doesn’t use ratchet language or report on things that have no real relevance. My only issue with the Sandra Rose site is the author reports on a story or update about a celebrity and sometimes adds her bias and commentary in the articles. Therefore, sometimes you have to be concerned with the actual accuracy of the information. (Sandra Rose is a major Beyonce and Jay- Z hater! Anyone who really knows me, knows, "Jayonce" is my family hahaha) The site has an abundance of people visiting the site daily. The website is open to anyone who wants to email them with possible leads or information for the site. The website has several loyal fans/members; they even go as far as to call Sandra Rose "Auntie". People are allowed to leave comments under the stories and interact with some of the other members and the author, Sandra Rose herself. The websites design is fairly simple with a black and white color scheme and the Sandra Rose logo is a big S in the color yellow. It looks mainly like a blog with a timeline or dashboard, as some other sites would call it. The layout keeps things simple as soon as you type in the website you don’t have to press several buttons to maneuver across the website. Everything you need is right there; all you need to do is scroll up and down to see more stories. Sandra Rose’s audience definitely needs to be age appropriate, hence there are some sites that say “Viewer discretion is advised. I wouldn’t exactly want my 9-year-old niece reading the story about the woman who purposely infected over 100 men with HIV/AIDS and in the interview is cursing up a storm. Also, Sandra Rose tries to keep the site friendly to all races. For example, another rival site called Media Takeout usually only writes stories on the minority races. Sandra Rose on the other hand discusses anyone who is gossip worthy. Sandra Rose doesn’t only discuss the celebs; the site also has numerous stories on politics, music, fashion, and television series. You should definitely should give Sandra Rose a chance and check it out! |
Women's Health Magazine
Women's Health Magazine's is a website that gives women access to workouts, diet plans, and advice on everything that women go through, throughout their lives. Being a woman is no joke! Between work, school, a family, and everything in between, women tend to put health as the last thing they’re concerned with and on the bottom of their plate. This is very unfortunate, because health needs to be a priority from a young age. Worrying about these things early could prevent a lifetime of sickness later. People don’t usually think about these things as a teenager or young adult, but it's vital. Deciding to eat healthier and getting the necessary exercise could make a huge difference. Therefore, this website discusses the daily lives of women and how to put health at the top of the totem pole all the while having support along the way.
It’s a website for a magazine so they’re definitely trying to make you fall in love with the site in hopes that you’ll purchase a subscription to their magazine. The magazine has visual depth and tries to look like this company and everything they embody. The sites' authors are very informative, understanding, and helpful. Furthermore, the website understands women, because it's written about women, by women (some men), for women. On the site they talk about exercise, eating/food/diet, beauty, sex, love, and life, which are all the things that women are talking about and inquiring about on a daily basis. If you haven’t concluded already, the website's audience is targeted at women. Its also speaks in a tone that is for the mature teen and adults. They don’t have kid workouts and issues being discussed on the site. So, yes there’s a slight bias, but women deserve to have a space where there needs come first. Right? YES! The website is like a blog so there are frequent updates and pictures. It works like a timeline or dashboard, as some other sites refer to this layout. They use a white and pink color scheme throughout the site, which is considered a girly color. It also uses quotes, pictures, and real stories to empower women to do better. Their logo says Women’s Health in a distinctive red font. The overall feel of the site is comforting and inviting. Within the last year I have tried to change my life around. I now go to the gym 4 days a week. I’ve changed my eating habits. I have really made this a lifestyle change. Furthermore, any support or advice I can get is appreciated which is why I value this site. I also like how informative the website is. They don’t expect everyone’s experience to be the same. They work with women of all sorts to come together for one common goal. The goal is not to be skinny but to be healthy and being happy while obtaining those goals and how to be proud of it. Anyone who is interested in this should definitely consider checking out their site. |
